Key Marketing Ideas

After watching the film, analysing the poster the main key features that I need to incorporate into my poster is:

Title – I need to make sure the title stands out as in the original image it did not stand out and was lost in the poster.

Genre – I need to make sure the genre is clear in my version of the poster as in the original it was not very clear with the clash of Romance, Action and comedy meaning the target audience was unclear. I am going to focus on the action and comedy to target the main audience which is

Stars – I need to make sure to include the director Edgar Wright without drawing the viewer away from the poster which is what the original poster did with the black border around it.

Main Character/s – in the original poster there was too many main characters with the seven evil exes, Scott and Ramona the two main characters were lost.

Tag line – in the original poster the tag line was not effecting as it was too long and did not hook the audiences. I will need to write a new tag line.

Central narrative – in the original poster the narrative was clear but it was too much with the overwhelming amount of characters on screen and the lengthy tag line to make this all clear. I will try to cover the main narrative of the film but without having too much on the poster.
